Who we are

What we collect directly

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, the subject you pick, and your message. That is sent to us by email so we can reply, and it is used for nothing else. We do not add it to a mailing list, we do not sell it, and we do not share it.

The contact form also records the moment the page loaded and the IP address the submission came from. Both exist purely as spam defense — a bot submits in milliseconds and a rate limit needs something to count against. The IP is held in memory on the server for at most an hour and is not written to storage.

There are no accounts on this site. Nothing to register for, no password to store, and no user record of any kind.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which buy links get clicked. It sets cookies and collects the usual information: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived.

We look at this in aggregate. We are not trying to identify individual readers and we have no way to connect analytics data to a name.

Google’s handling of that data is governed by their own policies. You can opt out across all sites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and most browsers let you block or clear cookies for a site directly.

Affiliate links and cookies

Buy links on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain and then to a retailer, currently Amazon. That retailer sets a cookie so a purchase can be attributed to us, which is how the site is funded.

We do not receive information about what you buy beyond aggregate commission reporting, and we never receive your name, address or payment details. Once you land on the retailer’s site, their privacy policy governs what happens next. The disclosure page explains the commercial relationship in full.

What we do not do

• No newsletter, so no email list.
• No advertising network, no retargeting pixels, no social tracking scripts.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone, for any purpose.
• No comment system, so nothing you post is stored.

Hosting and logs

This site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses as part of operating the service. That is ordinary infrastructure logging rather than something we collect or analyze.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use the Google opt-out add-on above, or simply not use the contact form. If you have written to us and would like the message deleted, ask at info@peepandpen.com and we will remove it.

Depending on where you live you may have specific rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold. Given that what we hold amounts to contact-form emails, that request is straightforward — write to the address above.

Children

This site is written for adults buying equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions; if you need one, ask.
